Moxibustion is a form of heat therapy in which dried plant materials called “moxa” are burned on or very near the surface of the skin. The intention is to warm and invigorate the flow of qi or vitality in the body and dispel certain pathogenic influences by stimulating blood and lymph circulation.
This is an entirely painless procedure.
In pregnancies with breech presentation, moxa-therapy can be used to induce the baby to turn spontaneously. The treatment is completely safe for both the expectant mother and the unborn child. The spontaneous turning will be provoked; there is no direct contact with the baby.
